About

A Japanese couple sharing real life in NYC

About KAMA Daily

KAMA Daily is a blog by a Japanese couple who moved to Manhattan, New York in 2025.

It started with a simple wish — to properly document our life in New York. We plan to write about our daily life, day trips around the city, travels, and everything in between, at our own pace.

Since we both love eating above all else, restaurant records will naturally take up a big part of the blog. We hope to capture the atmosphere, the food, the right occasions to visit, and what each of us felt — our honest, personal take on every experience.

We'll keep updating little by little, and we hope to grow this blog slowly over time. Thanks for stopping by!

Steak, hamburger, tacos, gyoza, lasagna, carbonara… the list never ends, but hopefully the lineup says something about his appetite. A big lover of beer, wine, and sake. Since moving to NYC, he's fallen deep into the world of cocktails and is happily exploring.

A shrimp and scallop enthusiast — whenever there's seafood on the table, KAMAO's plate is not safe. Her territory is cafés and sweets; finding new bakeries and dessert spots is her greatest joy. Scanning the streets for the next great café has quietly become a daily habit.

How We Rate

Honest Review

Most restaurants will fall here. We'll share both the highlights and the drawbacks honestly, with notes on who it might suit best.

Our reviews are based entirely on our own personal experiences. The same restaurant can feel quite different depending on the day or occasion, so please take our ratings as one perspective among many.

As for photos — sometimes we can take them, sometimes we can't, depending on the vibe of the place or who we're dining with. But we'll do our best to share as many as we can.
