Overall Review
5 Napkin Burger has become our go-to spot in Hell's Kitchen — the kind of place you just keep coming back to. While NYC's burger scene is full of smash burgers these days, this place takes a different approach: thick, juicy patties cooked to a perfect medium. The menu is surprisingly varied, and after multiple visits, we've yet to find a dud. The Tuna Poke starter is a favorite — crispy nachos with a poke-style topping that pairs dangerously well with a cold beer. We still haven't made it to dessert and tried the shake... but there's always next time.
Atmosphere & Access
Right in the heart of Hell's Kitchen, 5 Napkin Burger strikes that sweet spot between casual neighborhood diner and a place you'd happily bring out-of-town guests. It handles everything from lunch to dinner, plus weekend brunch — and the Monday–Friday Happy Hour (3–6 PM) makes after-work drinks here an easy habit to form.
The seating is a mix of generous booths and bar stools, with a relaxed, lived-in vibe that makes you want to stay longer than planned. There's also a location on the Upper West Side, where rumor has it the menu includes sushi — a curious combination we definitely need to investigate someday.
